What We Finance

More ways we finance.

The six programs cover most of what California agencies bring to the Authority. These are the other financings the Authority can issue, each on the same public platform and the same conduit structure.

Equipment and fleet

Tax-exempt lease or lease-purchase financing for fire apparatus, police and public-works vehicles, and utility equipment, on standardized documents.

Public buildings and facilities

Civic centers, libraries, recreation and community centers, public safety facilities, and other essential public buildings.

Pension obligation refinancing

Refinancing of unfunded pension liability balances where an agency's governing board has decided that refinancing is the right course.

Pooled financings

Under the Marks-Roos Local Bond Pooling Act, several agencies can go to market together and share the cost of issuance while each obligation stays legally and financially separate.

Other private activity bonds

Tax-exempt conduit financing for qualified exempt-facility, manufacturing, and surface-transportation projects, subject to the approvals federal tax law requires.
